Big news for all you Bachelorette fans out there: On Monday, March 2, Good Morning America will reveal the star of the next season of the hit ABC reality series. That’s right: In T-minus VERY SOON, we’ll know who the next Bachelorette is, and can emotionally prepare ourselves for the upcoming season, airing later in 2020.
We don’t know for certain who the next Bachelorette will be, but we have a couple of clues. The fact that GMA is revealing the new star on Monday—before Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor is over—suggests it won’t be one of his two remaining girlfriends, Hannah Ann or Victoria F. (Or three remaining girlfriends? It’s unclear what Madison’s status is, after she bailed on their overnight Fantasy Suite date.) The Bachelorette typically stars a fan favorite from the previous season of The Bachelor, which means Kelsey Weier (of champagne meme fame) could potentially be a contender—but otherwise, the pickings seem slim from Weber’s crop of ex-girlfriends.
So! Who else could it be? Because Ari’s season of The Bachelor exists, we know that ABC sometimes chooses a blast from the past. And because Brad Womack’s two seasons of The Bachelor exist, we know it’s within the realm of possibility that the next Bachelorette could be someone who’s starred on the show before. We also know ABC uses Bachelor in Paradise as a testing ground for casting future leads—see: Nick Viall—so the next Bachelorette could be someone who shone on the beaches of Mexico, too. With all that in mind, here are our picks for the next Bachelorette.
1 Kelsey Weier
If we abide by the logic that the next Bachelorette can’t be Hannah Ann, Victoria F., or Madison, then Kelsey is really the only woman from Peter’s season who could possibly be the next Bachelorette. After the champagne explosion heard ’round the world, it didn’t seem like Kelsey could possibly make it far, but she proved us wrong by showing her chiller side and making it all the way to hometowns.
2 Hannah Brown
It ain’t likely to happen, because of her new Dancing With the Stars gig. But if there’s any way to squeeze 30 boyfriends into this former Bachelorette’s busy schedule, we would love to see it happen. Hannah’s openness and honesty made her an awesome Bachelorette, and we’re still not over the fact that she was treated terribly by Jed. And Luke. She deserves another shot at love after the sh*t she went through!
3 Clare Crawley
Clare. Crawley. Deserves it. Dammit. She had to date Juan Pablo—perhaps the least popular Bachelor of all time—and put up with his slut-shaming after the two of them hooked up in the ocean, which is sexy and normal and nothing to be ashamed of and WE LOVE YOU, CLARE. Clare’s engagement to Benoit Beausejour-Savard, whom she met on Bachelor Winter Games, didn’t last, but it proved she still has faith in the process.
Plus, former Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise contestant Ashley Iaconetti picked Clare to the next Bachelorette, and we value her opinion! “She’s such a warm, nurturing soul who knows what she deserves,” Ashley recently told Life&Style.
4 Tayshia Adams
In our expert opinion, Tayshia is the most likely call. A fan favorite from Colton Underwood‘s season of The Bachelor, Tayshia seems to be a popular choice for the next Bachelorette. Her relationship with John Paul Jones on Bachelor in Paradise proved…how shall we put this…that Tayshia is very open-minded, meaning she’s the perfect candidate to date 30 random men at the same time.
5 Andi Dorfman
If Brad Womack could be Bachelor twice, and Ari could come back years after his last season, then Andi Dorfman should certainly be in the running for next Bachelorette. (Plus, like Clare, she also had to date Juan Pablo, so…) Andi, who’s 32, would be a refreshing choice after a couple of season filled with inexperienced early-20-somethings.
Andi’s another top pick from Ashley I., who described her to Life&Style as “witty, whip-smart, stunning, and won’t put up with crap.”
6 Kristina Schulman
We just feel like she deserves it after all the times she’s been jerked around on Bachelor in Paradise. The fact that she came back on the show after Dean screwed her over—only to be treated pretty badly by Stagecoach attendee Blake the next time around—proves that Kristina is open to finding love, even if it means sorting through a lot of suboptimal choices!
7 Bibiana Julian
It isn’t likely to happen, given Bibi’s track record of ending up with no one, but she’s funny and delightful, and it would be really nice to see her find love. That’s all.
