The ex-fiancee of U.S. comedian and game show host Drew Carey was killed on Saturday, and a former boyfriend was arrested for her murder, police have confirmed.
Dr. Amie Harwick was found dead after a fight with ex Gareth Pursehouse at her Los Angeles home, according to police. After officers were dispatched to deal with reports of a woman screaming, they found Harwick’s unresponsive body on the ground beneath a third story balcony in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Pursehouse was arrested and charged with murder. He’s now being held at Los Angeles County Jail on bail of $2 million.
Harwick’s murder comes after she “recently expressed fear about a former boyfriend and had previously filed a restraining order” against him, according to Deadline. The restraining order had reportedly only recently expired.
Sex therapist Harwick got engaged to The Price is Right host Carey in February 2018, but the pair parted ways amicably in November that year.
Carey has yet to respond to Harwick’s tragic death.
